A definite time (the last Wednesday of each month at 8 o'clock) and a definite place (the elementary school gym) was set for all future P.T.A. meetings. meet-ings. The hope was expressed that now the war is past and it is apparent that the education of our children is our most serious problem, that the parents will take renewed and active interest ! in the Neola school our j P.T.A. activities. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wiscombe j and family, of Layton, were weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Rhoades. Friday evening the M.I.A. entertained en-tertained the young people at a Hallowe'en party and dance. Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Ford and family and Mr. and Mrs. Rey Peterson and two sons, of Provo, hunted pheasants here Saturday and Sunday. Miss Audrey Gardner, of Salt Lake City, visited with relatives and friends over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Cook and family, of Salt Lake, visited at the home of Mrs. Alex Hutcheon two days last week. Mrs. Or in Griff en, of Ogden, arrived here Thursday to visit her . daughter, Mrs. Josephine Neumeyer, and to make arrangements arrange-ments to move to Neola in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Worthlin, of Scipio, visited the Lester Gardner Gard-ner family over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Labrura , and family, of Park City, are spending a few days in Neola. Mr. and Mrs. George Conn, of Roosevelt, visited here Sunday. Bryant Wimmer, of Magna, was in Neola four days last week assisting his mother in the construction con-struction of her home. John Larson was pleasantly surprised Tuesday evening when relatives and friends honored him at a birthday party. Guests included Geneva Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gardner, Mr."and Mrs. Fay Mecham, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Ar-'thur Ar-'thur Mitchell' and members of the William urozier family. I Mrs. Dellis Spencer returned ) from Park City, Saturday, where ' she has spent the past month visiting with her daughter, Max-ine. Max-ine. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Peterson Peter-son accompanied Mrs. Spencer to Neola for a short visit. Clair Duncan left Tuesday for Ogden, where he expects to be employed for some time. Ivan Bastian went to Ogden Sunday for supplies for his store. Mrs. Perry Bowen, of Leeton, was a Sunday visitor in Neola. Last Sunday evening the' children chil-dren of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Duncan Dun-can gathered at the Duncan home to honor their parents' birthday anniversaries. Mr, and Mrs; Duncan were among the first settlers in Neola and . are highlv regarded in the community. commun-ity. Mr. Duncan was 78 years of age and Mrs. Duncan one year younger. Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Halverson entertained at a birthday party Sunday for their daughter, Mrs. Melvin Bingham. A few close neighbors and relatives were present including Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Labrum and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mitchell and daughter, Anna, Mr. and Mrs. Loraine Bolton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crozier, Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Henrie, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Les-ter Gardner and Melvin Bingham. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Woodward Wood-ward and family, of Montwel, visited in Neola, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Allie Wardle and sons, Bud and Larry, of Provo, , spent Saturday visiting with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Tal Wardle. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Yack, of Lander, Wyoming, arrived Thursday Thurs-day to visit their father, George Yack, who is slowly recovering from an operation. They will return re-turn home by way of Salt Lake. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Lervill Olsen include Mrs. Olsens' sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Menchon, of Draggerton, Utah. The small son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Bastian met with an ac cident Monday while playing with a piece of wire. It was necessary to take him to a doctor. Mr. and Mrs. John Keel gave a wedding reception at their home Wednesday for their son, Laurence, and wife. Many beautiful beau-tiful and useful gifts were received re-ceived by the newly married couple. Delicious refreshments were served. |
