Show Ballard Scouts Report Perfect Trip To Canada, West Coast, And tarn No Sickness Or Accidents On Whole 3000 - Mile Trip Three thousand miles without accident, sickness or mishap of any kind was the report of the Ballard Scouts when they returned re-turned from their two-week trip to Canada last Saturday. From Ballard the trip took the 23 boys of Troops 252 and 2252 up through Yellowstone and Glacier parks into Cardston, Alberta province, Canada, where they visited the LDS temple the only one in Canada. From Cardston, the boys journeyed to Grand Coulee, Washington, Oregon, and then home. . Scoutmaster Buzz Larsen said, the only hot weather they encountered en-countered on the whole trip was in western Utah during the trip home. All the rest of the time they were blessed with cloudy or partly cloudy skies. The scouters ran into large herds of moose and elk in Glacier Gla-cier park in Montana; bears were plentful, too. While camping out one night a bear wandered into camp and stepped over one of the scouts, an act which prompted promp-ted three of the boys to make their beds on top of the bus. While in Canada , the "group visited a Hutterite 'village. Its inhabitants were part of the religious re-ligious sect which believes in setting up its own towns and running everything on a cooperative cooper-ative basis. The village had its own flour mill, bakery, dairy, shoe repair shop, and other stores in which people work for little or no pay. They believe that everyone should work for everyone's benefit. Larsen said the trip was made at a cost of approximately $200. The unused portion of their traveling fund will be used to further .scout work in the area. Twenty-three boys made the trip: Bryce and Lynn Whittle, Robert Stolla, Frank Bingham, Dale Bingham, Ensign Clark, Larry and Bud Larsen, Boyd Hancock, Devon Seeley, Drell McMullin, Norman Angus, Cloyd Wiscomb, Kent Brighton. Merlin Mer-lin Childs, Norman Rasmussen, Lynn Bracken, Jay Gates, Clifton Clif-ton Jenkins, Mark and Lynn Rasmussen, Arlin Bellon. and Robert Chapoose. Mr. and Mrs. Buzz Larsen and Mr. and Mrs. Jess Hullinger accompanied the boys. Scoutmaster Larsen expressed his appreciation of the help the following firms and persons gave: The garages of Lynn John-stun, John-stun, Drell Frcdrickson, Eldon Bascomb, and Labrum & Adams, for fixing the bus. J. V. McLca. Labrum and Edwards. Hazel's Ice Cream, Cash Meat Market, Leo Hansen, Uintah Motor Co., Lynn Labrum.
