Show LAPOINT !XSX5X5SSX5X5XSXSXSXSX5X5X3 Mr. and Mrs. Orin Swain spent Sunday in Price, they have have purchased the George Pearson Pear-son home at Neola and moved there the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Burton of Greystone, Colorado, visited his sisters, Mrs. Elmer Caldwell and Mrs. Francis Nelson and families during thb week. Lawrence Luck had the misfortune mis-fortune to be thrown from a horse on Sunday breaking his shoulder. It was necessary to lake him to the hospital. Reed and Dean Angus, sons of Mrs. Alice Angus, left Wednesday Wednes-day for Blythe, California. Reed has bought a farm there and will make his home at that place. Dean will return home after a short visit. Mrs. Xela Hullinger left Thursday morning for Long Beach, California, to visit her husband, Orvcl Hullinger who is in the Merchant Marines stationed at Catalina Island, California, the past 6 weeks. He will leave soon for overseas duty. Alonzo McMickell arrived home during the week from a 6 week visit in Kansas and Denver, Den-ver, Colorado. He visited one sister at Denver, Colorado, that he hadn't seen for 15 years, one sister came to Denver to visit with him also, they hadn't seen each other for 30 years. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Thompson also Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gurber of Vernal and Mr. and Mrs, M. P. Rogers of Leota visited with Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Bodily during the week. Nilah Perry of Vernal visited relatives and friends here on Sunday. Eli Smith received word that his son, Marvin had made a flight to Cuba recently. Two crews also came to Wendover with 2 bombers they left one bomber there and both crews went back with Marvin, He is a co-pilot, and is stationed at Victoria, Kansas. Ward conference was held here in Lapoint Sunday. Archie Johnson, Byron Goodrich, H. Grant Vest, Lawrence Fox and Harold Lundell of Vernal were present. A girls chorus, sang two numbers under the direction of Irva Huber and Arlo accompanist accom-panist on the piano; a musical reading, "I know that my Re-demer Re-demer Lives" was given by Mrs. Ray Lee, accompanied by Mrs. Irva Huber on the piano. A large crowd was in attendance. Mrs. L. H. Woodward of, Vernal and son Lawrence were visitors in Lapoint on Sunday. Lawrence leaves Wednesday for Salt Lake City where he will join the navy and start his training. |
