Show PERSONALS and SOCIETY Mrs. Wm. H. Ruppcl is spending spend-ing this week in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Ray E. Dillman went to Salt Lake City Monday. Mr. and Mrs. James Timothy of Altonah spent Monday in Roosevelt taking care oi business matters. Wallace Timothy who has been in Oakland, California for the past few months is visiting in Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Crapo and family left Sunday for Salt Lake City where they will make their home. Mrs. Frank Griffin and son, Roger returned home after spending the past six weeks visiting relatives in California. The Bible club group under the direction of Harry Gregory held a very enjoyable chicken supper Wednesday evening at the Bible mission. It was well attended. Mrs. Walter Daniels is home from Klamath Falls, Oregon where she has been visiting with her husband who is employed at that place. Paul S. Hanson attended a meeting of the Predatory Animal Anim-al control board, held at the courthouse in Duchesne Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Olsen of Park City spent the week end , visiting with Mrs. Olsen's mother, moth-er, Mrs. Annie Jorgensen. I Walter Franson of Salt Lake City was a business visitor - in Roosevelt last week end and also made a pleasant call at this office. of-fice. Annie C. Bowden of Honcock Cove returned home Sunday from Salt Lake City where she has been visiting with her son, Clarence, who has been called to the Navy. Clarence is a graduate of the Roosevelt High school. Ronald Page, who has been in the hospital at Alameda, California, Cali-fornia, suffering from asma, has received a medical discharge from the Navy and arrived home Sunday. His wife, the former Miss Amber Swain has been in Roosevelt for some time. Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Evans and daughters, Linda and Patricia, formerly of Salt Lake City were business visitors in Roosevelt f Friday. Mr. Evans recently pur chased the Sam Weiss farm at Ballard. Birthday Parly Miss Louise Stoddard was guest of honor at a birthday party par-ty Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Annie Jorgensen. Refreshments Re-freshments ' were served and games played. Those present were LaVaur Reynolds, Grace Colton, Shanna Bellon, Marlene Frederickson, Renee Stewart, Jo Ann Griffin, Carol Pattry, Joyce Jordan and the honored guest, Miss Stoddard. Junior Social Culture Club - Mrs. Stanley Peterson was hostess to the club members at her home Monday evening. The book review, "And Now Tomorrow", Tomor-row", by Rachael Fields, was given by Mrs. Therin Leavitt. Mrs. Ned Bellon presided over the meeting. Those present were Mrs. Ned Gines, Mrs. Therin Leavitt, Lea-vitt, Mrs. Bernard Larsen, Mrs. Bill Litster, Mrs. Stanley Hall, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Ned Bellon, LaRue Allred and the hostess, Mrs. Peterson. Daughters of Pioneers j Daughters of the Utah Pio-jneers Pio-jneers met at the home of Mrs. ! Florence Neilsen Friday. The following fol-lowing program was carried out under the direction of Helen Howells, president with Mrs. Lila Nickell presiding rand conducting con-ducting the meeting; invocation by Alta Phillips; piano selections by Betty Sprouse and Bonnie Hanson; lesson, "The G6vernors of Utah" by Margaret Wiscombe; life sketc h of her grandmother by Mrs. Clara Hanson; benediction benedic-tion by Mrs. Mary Orser. Kil-lian. The hostesses were Mrs. Florence Neilsen and Mrs. Gertrude Gert-rude Rasmussen. A delicious luncheon was served after the meeting. Bridgette Club Mrs. Frank Mohlman entertained enter-tained the members of the Bride-ette Bride-ette club at her home Thursday evening. Covers were laid for Mrs. Walt Zumwalt, Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, Mrs. Elmer Eldredge, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Mrs. Karl Burgess, Mrs. Steve Bellon, Mrs. Ned Bellon, Mrs. Bernard Larsen, Mrs. Gordon Ralph Felker, Mrs. Bill Nelson, I Harmston and the hostess. j Neighborhood Sewing club Members of the Sewing club spent a social evening at the 'home of Mrs. Parley Rawlings Wednesday evening. Those present pres-ent were the Mesdames Louis Laris. Art Allen, Darrell Walker, Walk-er, George Abplanalp, George Chcnowith, Stanley Hall, J. S. Rawlings, LaRue Allred and the hostess. . ' ' Mr. and Mrs. Glen Lambert and son, Donald of Vernal were Thursday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Lewis. Donald left Sunday for Norman, Okla-home Okla-home where he will receive further training for air pilot duty. |
