Show Roosevelt Ward Activities The Primary organization of the Roosevelt Ward held an excellent ex-cellent Ward conference Sunday evening; Mrs. Nedra Nickell, the president of the Primary had charge of the conference. The program was in the form of a pageant with Mrs. Ida Wooton, the reader and each class of the primary taking part. Mrs. Effie Wilde was in charge of the music. mus-ic. Mrs. Nickell reported that out of the possible 230 children of primary age, there were 223 enrolled. Activities in which all the children took part were prepared pre-pared for the conference. Bee Hive Swarm Day At the Roosevelt Bee Hive Stake Swarm Day held Tuesday afternoon at the Roosevelt Ward amusement hall, the following , program was carried out: community com-munity singing, "Bee Hive Marching Song"; invocation, Lu-Ella Lu-Ella Olsen: welcome address, I Mrs. Ellen Rawlings; theme, . Mrs. Blanche Murphy, the Stake Y L M I A president; reading by the Bennett Ward; harmonica selection by the Bennett Ward; dance by the Roosevelt Ward; reading and song by the Neola ward; reading by the Myton Ward; braiding the Maypole by the Roosevelt Ward Gathers; talk, Mrs. Doris Johnson, supervisor super-visor of the District Bee Hive work; awards presented by Mrs. Rawlings; community singing; and benediction by Zella Gardner. Gard-ner. After the program the girls and their mothers, over a hundred, hun-dred, were served in the banquet ban-quet room of the Relief society rooms; Mrs. Murphy was in charge with Mrs. Bernice Nelson, Nel-son, Mrs. Norma Broadbent, Mrs. Virgie Murphy, Mrs. Eulalia Randolph, the Misses LuElla Olsen. Ol-sen. Beulah Pcrcival, Lucile Per- cival and Mrs. M. J. Edwards assisting as-sisting in the dinning room and kitchen. The dinning table was lovely with a large centerpiece of sweet peas and daffodils, candles can-dles and exquisite lace cloth and plates of candy. MIA Spring Festival Tuesday evening the M I A Spring festival was held beginning begin-ning with a program, a floor show, braiding the Maypole, a dance and refreshments served. The Roosevelt Ward presented a one-act play, the Myton Ward a musical reading, the Bennett Ward a humorous reading and the Neola Ward a humorous reading. Paul Nelson and Mrs. Blanche Murphy were in charge of the arrangements with the boards of the MIA assisting. |
