Show BASIN BRIEFS Baseball Roosevelt will play Duchesne Sunday afternoon at 2 p. m. in the Roosevelt Recreation Park. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Wis-combe, Wis-combe, of Layton, announce the arrival of a baby girl, born June 21. " ' ' Mrs. Hortense Hunter and Mrs. Murnie Peterson returned to Provo, Saturday, . after having spent the past week here visiting their sister, Mrs. Ivan Duncan. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Duncan have received word that their son, Harold, is now at a separation separa-tion center awaiting transportation transporta-tion home. He expects to be here by July 24. Cadet Laurance'R. Brighton, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Brighton, Brigh-ton, is now at Fort Lewis, Washington Wash-ington attending the R.O.T.C. Camp which started June 23. The six weeks course in instruction instruc-tion is advanced and specialized training in preparation for a commission in the Organized Reserve Re-serve Corps. Laurance has been attending the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural College at Logan during the past winter. It's home again for Harold El-dredge, El-dredge, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hardld Eldredge, after a winter spent at the University of California, Cali-fornia, at Berkeley. - It's been an enjoyable time for Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch, They have spent the past two weeks touring the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, Canada. Mr. Birch's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Frair-brain, Frair-brain, and family, of Claresholm, Alberta, Canada, returned to Roosevelt with them, where they will visit with Mrs. Frairbrain's mother, Mrs. Thomas Halen, and other relatives and friends. Roosevelt Bible Mission Roosevelt Bible Mission Junior Jun-ior Bible Class, met June 17 at the home of Art Allen with an attendance of 19. Mr. M. G. Pen- field presided over the meeting. The sermon was taken from I Timothy, chapter 3. Bible stories were given by Jim Collingham. The next class will be held at the residence of M. G. Pcnfield, July 1 at .7:45 p. m. An open invitation in-vitation is extended to all who are interested in the scriptures. Mrs. Randall Stewart left this week for month's vacation with friends and relatives in Tooele and at points in Idaho. Mrs. ' Thco Phillips returned Saturday from Provo, where she was called June 14 by -the serious ser-ious illness and subsequent death of her father, Mr. David Evans. Pfc. Edwin Richman arrived Sunday evening, June 22, to spend a two weeks furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Richman. Edwin will return to Letterman General hospital hos-pital at San Francisco, where he has been stationed. Miss Chalcne Bellon and Miss Acnona Mayhew have returned from Grand Canyon and Zion National. Park to visit for two weeks at the home of Oharlene's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Bellon. Edwards Ed-wards are. home again after a vacation spent visiting friends and relatives in California andi other points. Wendell 'Duncan, of Neola, a former member of Toyack Chapter Chap-ter FFA, exhibited a fat steer at the Intermountain Junior Fat Stock Show, where he took first place in the blue ribbon group of the class in which the animal was exhibited. He later entered the steer in the grand champion ring of 25 animals chosen from 1800 entries and was awarded 5th place. The steer exhibited by Duncan is out of the Albert Blank herd. Altamont'5, will stage a celebration cele-bration on, July 24 and 25 at Ihe Altamorit Rodeo grounds.
