Show Unique Dedicatory Ceremony Held By Eastern Star (Delayed Report) Melody Lynn Riggle, five-month five-month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Riggle, of Neola, was dedicated to the principles of the Order of the Eastern Star during the Grand Visitation of the state officers of the Order of The Eastern Star held at Myton, April 8. The . beautifully impressive dedicatory ceremony was conducted con-ducted by Worthy Grand Matron Margaret C. Rohn, assisted by Grand Chaplain Lillian II. Bowcn. The ceremony is a fairly common com-mon one in some states (900 babies were dedicated to the Order Or-der of the Eastern Star in one state) but so far as is known. Melody Lynn Riggle is the first baby so dedicated in the State of Utah. A hand made Navajo bracelet a gift from Duveromy Chapter in commemoration of the occasion, occas-ion, was presented to the baby by Associate Matron Olga Roberts. Rob-erts. A gift of money was made by the Grand Officers, with Grand Conductress Flora D. Large making the presentation with appropriate speech and wish. Grand officers present at the dedication were Worthy Grand Matron Margaret C. Rohn, Associate Asso-ciate Grand Matron Dicia M. Waters, Associate Grand Patron B. W. Deason, Grand Conductress Conduc-tress Flora D. Large, Associate Grand Conductress Evelyn Pes-setto Pes-setto and Grand Chaplain Lillian Lil-lian H. Bo wen. The baby's father fath-er and her grandfather, Albert Blank, were also present. Mrs. Riggle, mother of Melody Lynn, is organist at Duveromy Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, at Myton, and Mrs. Sadie Blank, the baby's grandmother, is an officer in the chapter. |
