C. H. La brum went to Salt Lake City Monday on business. Postmaster J, A. Pack is spending a few days in Salt Lake, following an illness of flu for several days. Mrs. Pearl Swain and daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Ronald Page, left Monday Mon-day for San Francisco, California Californ-ia to visit for a month. Joyce (Jordan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Jordan, returned Tuesday from Ogden where she spent the week visiting. Mrs. J. W. Cunningham of Oakland, California is spending a few days in Roosevelt visiting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Wilson. Mrs. J. J. Miller who is staying stay-ing in Springville receiving medical care spent the week end at home, returning Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Lambert are the proud parents of a baby girl, born Saturday. Mrs. Lambert Lam-bert is the former Miss Elva Holgate of Bridgeland. Dr. and Mrs. R. Q. Warnock returned Sunday from Salt Lake City. Mrs. Warnock reports her mother, who is ill in Salt Lake, as improving daily. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Whitlock of Salt Lake City spent Easter Sunday as guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Harmston. Mrs. Dora Owen who has been at the home of her daughter in Hiawatha during the past winter, wint-er, has returned to her home in Roosevelt. Mrs. Owen is much improved in health. Jack Harmston and his friend Jake Duran who are attending the Wasatch academy at Mt. Pleasant, spent the Easter holiday holi-day at the home of Jack's parents par-ents Mr. and Mrs. Ted Harmston. Mrs. Sam Weiss and son Dickie Dick-ie and her mother, Mrs. Adol-phus Adol-phus Ellis left during the week for Woods Cross where they will spent a few days visiting. Mrs. Thco A. Phillips visited her daughter, Mrs. Mark Mc-Guire Mc-Guire in Ogden for a lew days last week returning Tuesday, bringing with her her granddaughter, grand-daughter, Marineene. Birthday Party Mrs. Ethel Brown entertained in honor of her daughter's birthday, birth-day, it being Delores's tenth anniversary April 7th. The affair was held at the city park. The birthday cake was made by her grandmother Summarall. Many beautiful gifts were received by the honored guest. Those present were: John Rupel, Dickie Rupel, Darlene Brown, JoAnn Hansen, Audrey Hall, Quin Corbridge, Berry Rigby, Sammie Dale Sum-marell, Sum-marell, Callie Summarell, Toby Burton, Marlene Burton, John Lee Zimmerman, Shirley Pen-field, Pen-field, Garth Wingo, Kenneth Nickels, Jackie Burgess, Val Edrington, Essie Sprouse, Hazel Fredrickson, Verna Jean Fres-ton. Fres-ton. Max Patry, Billy McLea, Carol Schaefermeyer, LaWanna Dillman, Dorothy Dillman, Gerald Rowley, Billy Dugdale, Jean Pearson, DeLaine Pearson, and Edward Marchant. Altrus Club Thursday evening the Altrus club met at the home of Mrs, Bartley Heiner. Miss Genieve Tree, speech instructor of the Roosevelt high school gave a very clever and interesting reading read-ing of the play, "The First Mrs. Frazier". Those present were Mrs. Reda Baxter, president, Mrs. Blanche Murhpy, secretary, Mrs. Bernice Nelson, Mrs. Beryl Mullins, Bernice Palfreyman, Mrs. Faun Leavitt, Mrs. Nedra Nickll, Mrs. Mary Orser, Mrs. Viola Harmston, Mrs. Bee Jordan, Jor-dan, Mrs. Mildred Dillman. Mrs. Elaine Hullinger, Mrs. Carma Winterton, Ruth Jorgensen, Lu-Ella Lu-Ella Olsen, Mrs. Betty Swain. i Ross-Labrum Miss Orlean Ross, daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Marion Ross of Arcadia and Norman Labrum of the U S Navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Labrum of Roosevelt were married Wednesday afternoon, after-noon, April 4th at the home of the bride's parents, in the presence pres-ence of relatives of the immediate immed-iate families and a few close friends. Bishop Ross performed the ceremony with Miss Erna i Larson the bridesmaid and Ar-beth Ar-beth Perry as best man. The bride wore a lovely navy blue suit with matching accessories, a white gardinea graced her shoulder. A reception followed the ceremony after which the couple returned to Roosevelt. Lisonbee-Duncan Mr. and Mrs. Roy R. Lisonbee announce the marriage of their daughter, Lorraine, to Seaman 1-c C. Donald Duncan, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. N. Duncan 613, Le-land Le-land Ave. Salt Lake City, April 4th in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. The bride wore a white satin wedding grown with a finger fin-ger tip veil. The bride's parents accompanied the couple through the temple. A dinner honoring ' the newly weds was given by the bride's parents at the Tea room in the Z C M I, immediately following fol-lowing the ceremony. Later in the evening a dinner was served to members of the immediate families, at the home of the bridegroom's parents. Friday Bridge Club Mrs. Paul Wilkins'was hostess to members of the Friday Bridge club at her home April 6. Covers were laid for the following: Viola Harmston, Elva McLea, Beryl Mullins, Areva Huish, Ann Warnock, Billy Bair, Marva' Corbridge, Letta Robbins, Hazel Ashton, Evelyn Schmiett, Ethel Saunders, Thel Ruppel and the hostess. t |
