Show BASIN BRIEFS Slake Beehive Excursion Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Stake Beehive Keeper, announces that those girls who wish to participate partici-pate in the Stake Beehive excursion excur-sion to Brighton in Big Cotton Wood Canyon should make their reservations immediately with either their teacher or with Mrs. Rawlings. The excursion will gather at Mrs. Rawling's home in Roosevelt Roos-evelt Wednesday morning, July 10, at 5:00 a.m. and will leave from there by car at 5:3p a.m., returning to Roosevelt the evening even-ing of July 13. Cost of the four day excursion will be $8.00. It is suggested that each girl bring a small amount of additional money to use for incidentals. Each girl should bring one sheet, a pillowcase, washrag and towel and other personal items. Blankets will be furnished. Also each girl should bring a cotton dress in which to dress for meals, slacks or levis and sturdy shoes for hiking, and a sweater. It is suggested that two girls use one suitcase in order or-der to conserve space in the cars. Rev. and Mrs. N. N. Beaird and children of Edcouch, Texas who have been guests at the home of Mr. Beaird's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dill-man, Dill-man, left Monday for Los Angeles, Ange-les, California accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Dillman and daughters. daugh-ters. They will attend the reunion reun-ion of the Beaird family. Dr. and Mrs. F. R. King of Price were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Roberts. During their short stay in Roosevelt they called on friends here and at Neola. Mrs. King will be remembered remem-bered as the former Eleanor Sut-telmeyer, Sut-telmeyer, Duchesne county nurse. Sugar Stamp , Sugar Stamp No. 10 was validated vali-dated July 1 for five pounds of canning sugar. Mrs. Louis Laris has been confined con-fined to her home for the past week with an acute infection. Mr. and Mrs. Raemond Gagon, sons, Raland and Howard, and daughters, Marlcne and Sandra Lee, visited in Roosevelt on Friday. Fri-day. The Gagons have been vacationing va-cationing in the Basin for two weeks prior to Raland's leaving for Los Angeles to resume his studies in aeronautical engineering engineer-ing which were interrupted when he entered the army in 1943. Mr. Gagon and sons operate the Gagon Ga-gon Press, a commercial printing establishment in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken were called to Salt Lake a week ago Sunday by the death of their small grandson, Richard Marshall, Mar-shall, who died after inhaling cyanide gas fumes. The body was brought from the family home in Las Vegas, Nevada for burial in the Salt Lake City cemetery. Karl, Guy, Lynn and Rhea Bracken, and Mrs. Elton Kettle went out on Tuesday to attend the funeral services which were held at the Dcseret Mortuary. Mr. and Mrs. Woodie Marshall, parents of the small boy, returned return-ed to Roosevelt to spend some time with Mrs. Marshall's parents. par-ents. Louise Bellon who is employed employ-ed in Salt Lake City, spent the past week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Bellon. Harold Eldredgc who has been attending the University of California, Cali-fornia, has returned to Roosevelt where he will spend the summer with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eldredge. |
