Show Western Range Feed Poorest Since 1939 I Western ranges have a poor to good supply of late fall and winter feed. Lbck of rainfall I during the late summer and fall has reduced the supply and condition of range feed more than average. The Nov. 1, 1948 range feed condition is the lowest for that date since 1939. Livestock Live-stock continue in good condition except in the drier areas, according ac-cording to the Nov. 1 Western Livestock and Range Report of the Denver Western Livestock office of the U. S. Bureau of Agricultural Economics. The condition ratingiof range feed of 76 per cent is the lowest for Nov. 1 since 1939. Montana, the Dakotas, and western Nebraska Ne-braska have a good crop of dry cured range and pasture feeds. Wyoming has very short feed on the fall and winter ranges. Eastern East-ern Colorado and western Kansas Kan-sas ranges and pastures have fair to good dry feed. 1 In New Mexico dry fall weather weath-er reduced range feed supplies. Ranges and pastures in Washington Wash-ington and Oregon have good to very good feed. Idaho ranges are dry with fair to good feed. In Nevada and Utah, ranges continue con-tinue very dry with short feed, which has the lowest Nov. 1 condition con-dition sincel934. Arizona ranges have short feed in the south, with fair to good feed in the north. |
