Senior Lisa Ballantyne closed out ninant high school athletic career by earning points in three field events. Her best showing for the meet was a fourth place effort in the javelin, followed by a fifth place in the discus and topped off with a sixth place showing in the shot competition. The other Viking to score points was junior hurdler Tiffany Reynolds who placed fifth in the 110 meter event. Tiffany was also in the finals of the 300 meter hurdle event, she is one of the few athletes in the finals fin-als that will return next season so keep an eye on her next track season in the two hurdle races. Davis High was paced by a couple of state winning relay teams in their quest for third place. The 400 meter sprint team consisting of Darlene Stockton, Kathy Lyman, Tammy Duke and Suzy Orion won the state title in their specialty and then the team of Duke, Orton, Dianna Peterson and Allison Horsley won the state medley title. Truth is Darlene Stockton and Suzy Orton were top point getters for the Darts. Darlene picked up valuable valua-ble points with a fourth in the 100 meter and sixth in the 400 meter race while Suzy was third in the 200 meters and sixth in the 100 meters. It was in the field events that the Darts picked up their other noints with Cheri Raxter rlaiminr' thirrl in |
