| Show GEORGE BEAN funeral service were held sunday afternoon in the richfield second ward chapel for george bean 83 who died at his home here late friday of ailments incident to age bishop W H was in c harge charge of the services musical numbers included abide with me and 1 I know my heavenly father knows sung sting by a quartet composed of mrs L A poulson mrs D E howard mendenhall and owen bingham a solo going home by mrs L A poulson and a solo the last roundup by owen bingham the last song suggestive of mr beans pioneer activities was a special request number carvel mattsson the accod pani ments speakers were A 0 R T thurber T A hunt and H E beal mr beal read resolutions of respect and condolence from the south central utah bar association of which mr bean was one of the oldest members short remarks were made by bishop the invocation was offered by A J ashman the benediction by W A interment was in the salt lake city cemetery where john horne home of salt lake dedicated the grave pallbearers Pall bearers were attorneys H E beal T A hunt J vernon erickson ferdinand erickson john L sevy jr and carvel mattsson mr bean was born bom in provo on december 26 1856 a son of geo washington and elizabeth baum bean his father acted as federal judge before utah was made a state he spent his early youth working with his father as an interpreter ter preter for the indians and as an escort and bodyguard for brigham young he moved to richfield when he was 16 years old he married celia evelyn hunt on february 13 1878 in the salt lake endowment house she died in 1910 and he married ruby fordham on february 9 1927 in salt lake city during his lifetime mr bean had served as city attorney county attorney U S marshal and at the time of his death was the city justice of peace he also fulfilled an L D S mission to the southern states surviving are his widow two daughters mrs T L holman of salt lake and mrs J D herrick of st louis two sons lionel bean of los angeles and james bean of richfield two step chil dren mrs peter allen alien of bicknell and morris bean of richfield and the following loving fol sisters and brothers mrs J L horne home mrs vilate B johnson and willard W and jesse F bean all of salt lake city mrs S G dark clark mrs melinda beal mrs emily bell and I 1 W bean of richfield |
