| Show christmas christma s lichtin 9 group C roup named prizes offered residential and business districts sports program discussed dell shearer was appointed chairman of a junior chamber of commerce committee to promote christmas lighting in the business and residential districts of richfield it was announced following the monday night meeting of the organization cooperation is surg urged for this organization which succeeded so well in a lighting project last year committee appointments were made by J devon ford club president the committee met wednesday night and decided to offer two loving cups one for the home best de decorated abed in harmony with the season and one for the business house best decorated in harmony with the season judges will be selected and judging win will take place from 6 to 9 p m december 20 letters are being sent to all who cooperated in the residential lighting contest last year and to 60 additional dit ional home owners inviting them to participate if possible the city has already strung some lights across main street and it is the wish of the committee that business houses decorate their places by december 1 or as soon after that date as possible committee members are del shearer chairman john nielson ken isbell max marquardson and lynn peterson the sports committee of the club reported the start made to ward clearing a ski course in in clear creek canyon club members will make another trek to the site next sunday to finish the project and would like townspeople interested d to go along and help with the job harold ence suggested a plan in accordance with which the club agreed to sponsor a basketball team composed of jaycees to compete with club teams throughout the state |
