dates for issuing clearance slips to car owners set it has been generally understood that new license plates would have to be on cars by january 1 1937 and that clearances showing that taxes have been paid would be issued from the county asses assessors sols office prior to that time however it was announced wednesday by cliff 11 powell assessor that after attending the state convention of county officials it was decided not to start issuing clearances until january 2 allowing automobile owners to obtain clearances until january 15 and giving them until january 31 to display new license plates to make it convenient for automobile owners districts will be established in sevier county and names of persons qualified to issue clearances within their respective districts will vill be announced by the county assessor next act week persons who will be leaving the state before january I 1 may obtain clearance slips prior to that time at the county assessors office
