Show Braves Claim Big Wim Over Rams By DAVE WIGHAM Clipper Sports BOUNTIFUL -- Bountiful went through the formality of claiming the region title with an impressive win over Highland but the big news is at the other end of the standings involving the state tournament berths. THE BRAVES are actually the only team to have a state berth in their pocket. Four other teams still have a shot at berths, also a shot at sitting in the stands and watching. The only club out of the picture is Woods Cross. Davis and Highland are at 5-4 while Viewmont and East are at 4-5 with the one remaining league game slated for Tuesday, which means all of this will be solved prior to reading this story. DO YOU realize that with just under four minutes left to go in the game the Cats were only down by two points and they were at the foul line with a chance to pull even. Then as you can guess the roof caved in. The Cats missed the charity char-ity shots then East went down and converted on a three point play. Woods Cross then threw the ball away and East scored. THIS DIDN'T happen just once but twice and all of a sudden the Leopards were up by nine and the landslide was starting. Woods Cross played a marvelous marve-lous first half as they led most of the time by as many as 12 points. At the halftime buzzer the local side had a seven point lead and appeared well on their way to their |
