Show Seminar Slated "The Value of Children: Past, Present and Future" is the title of a one evening seminar sponsored by the Davis School District's Parent Education Resource Center. The seminar will be held Wednesday, March 20, at the Monte Vista Center Cen-ter in Farmington and presented by Mrs. Gloria Wright, MSW. THROUGHOUT the ages, children chil-dren have been valued by parents and society in different ways and to varying degrees. These factors have influenced the interaction between be-tween parents and have done much in formulating child rearing theories and trends popular to certain cer-tain eras. As the years have past, society has seen the pendulum swing wide, from the authoritarian to the permissive per-missive mode, with neither being truly healthy for the child. Mrs. Wright maintains that by examing what has happened in the past, we can better handle the present and make valid plans for the future. THE SEMINAR will begin at 7 p.m. A $3 per individual or $5 per couple fee has been set and pre-registratio pre-registratio is requested. |
