Show PROVISION W E FOB unemployed SCHOOL TEA federal relief agency plan offers free training for adults through a new provision of the federal relief agencies employment Is being made possible for unemployed school teachers and at the same time the plan offers free education in various lines for adults according to an outline of the plan sent to A J aschman Ash hman superintendent erin exin of the sevier school district teachers may be employed to do any of the following types of school work first to continue rural schools which otherwise would close or be greatly curtailed due to lack of funds second to teach adults unable to read and write english third to give vocational training to the unemployed to qualify them to enter employment fourth to give vocational training to adults who are physically handicapped fifth to give general training to other adults to help them become more effective citizens at present it seems possible to conduct classes under plans three or five in the sevier district the relief agen cles cies with superintendent ashman are very anxious to get classes organized in the district all unemployed teachers are urged to register with their local re relief I 1 i ef agency or with the county clerk and when classes are organized instructors will be taken from those registered married women whose husbands are unemployed may qualify for such work there is however no pro vision to take teachers from one locality to another teachers must have certificates and be otherwise qualified to teach classes offered if any teacher desires more detailed information they may phone to superintendent ashman or visit him at his office sir air ashman has at hand the program and chuises of study worked out by the state and approved by the federal director of welfare and relief and also has application p I 1 blanks teachers are to fill out in applying for amp employment I 1 uy after they have registered with the relief agencies anyone over eighteen years of age is eligible to take courses classes will not be organized for less than six persons under homemaking home making are courses especially adapted to those desirous of instruction in remodeling clothing selection and construction of clothing selection and and preparation of food on a limited budget planning the family budget on relief allowances child care and training home decorations family relationships and morale and home management under another course comes health hy geine physical training and recreation under cultural and leisure time activities are classes in literature music science and gardening under the heading of social and civic service are offered courses in economics and sociology taxes government works and forum discussions in the field of agriculture courses are outlined for poultry raising feeds and feeding dairying repairing farm machinery and home gardening |
