| Show RUN ff HOUS dame rumor is a dirty old haff bag and we hesitate to listen to her even when wh n it t comes to radio but these infernal radios just butt in in i where angels fear to tread and this old dame who seems to have a radio corner tucked away in tile the hills of southern utah uses her slanderous tongue in telling about men and jobs on our state highway that sorta gives us the creeps this old slanderer says that it is getting so that the quality of employee is not so material in other words its not important whether or not he knows anything about road building or road grading or road management or road economy if he only has the ability to buy a radio coupled with discretion enough to keep his mouth shut about the commission he received on the purchase price and the commission that went to the man higher up this old dame also whispers that the higher up carries a stock of frigi daires and other home conveniences for the purpose of improving the personal magnetism and home surroundings of their employees and not of course for the meager commissions secured by the higher supervisor but just to make the home conditions of the road employees better this same old bird dame rumor says that it has come to her through one of the wireless reports that the state trucks have been used for the purpose of transporting the radios to the fortunate purchaser we hope that all these reports coming from the old dame are not true we regret to state that we feel assured that they are at least true in part and hope the conditions wi will 11 be remedied and that men will be placed to supervise vise our roads who are interested in road building road repairing road maintenance and road economy rather than radios and frigi daires and who will earn their salaries in making good road conditions better rather than try and increase their salaries by on radios frigi daires etc we hope it will not be necessary for us to speak any plainer piute diute county news its right to marry a wife that is good to look at but its more important to marry one who is good to listen to the trouble with most of us is that we ve dont wait until april 1 to have some one make a fool of us |
