Show EX MER LEGION POSTS richfield and elsinore posts to be initiated may 29 plan activities world war veterans in richfield and elsinore were active the last of the week in organizing posts of the american legion at richfield a group of ex service men gathered at the office of the endsley motor co to reorganize organize re the jensen colby post with the assistance of frank thurston of redmond district committeeman and three members of the active legion post at salina officers were selected as follows P D endsley commander L R fournier Fou mier first vice commander comander kenneth L hood second vice commander C D emery adjutant C R card contact man and finance officer hanmer E peterson chaplain W J farnsworth historian alton aanderson sergeant at arms the executive committee will consist of P D endsley chairman A L taylor R T scranton J clifford acl on and A D anderson all ex service men from richfield are invited to join the post and to notify officers of their intention to join as soon as possible wherever there is a post of the american legion it is regarded as an asset in putting over community activities and is also an aid to the individual members in securing compensation for services it is to be hoped that the newly appointed officers will receive support in again establishing the jen sen sell colby post the meeting of ex service men inen at elsinore thursday was also attended by district committeemen from salina and redmond the organization was effected with the following officers alfred madsen commander lloyd leavitt i farsi first vice rice commander byron B barney arne second vice commander basil baci je jensen finance officer minor hanson adjutant clyde lott sergeant at arms fred bell eba chaplain plain leon T madsen service officer walter B jensen historian frank nan ley levi peterson herman hermansen and joseph anderson executive committee four other men charles nielson ornery kniery hansen hansell dee sylvester and raymond nielson complete the post A meeting will be held at richfield on may 29 according to present plans for the purpose of initiating the elsinore and richfield posts ted littlefield of salt lake regional man manager ager of I 1 the veterans bureau mr olson oisen of ogden state commander and otto beesley of salt lake state adjutant will be in attendance mr mr beesley will be the speaker in in charge of the installation in lionor honor of the organization of the elsinore post arrangements have been made by the offic cis in charge to observe poppy day clay may 30 in connection with a dance at shady saady dell where the white poppy memorial flower of the lesion n ion will be sold |
