| Show reconstruction OF PUMPING P L T NOW Colm FLET beg city council considers installation of water meters bleter 4 to prevent waste of water the city council is in receipt or oc an invitation to the convention of the municipal league which will be held in heber city thursday friday and saturday july 10 19 to 21 and in the council meeting of 0 last thursday mayor R garn dark clark presiding the invitation was discussed and it was vas resolved that our city government will be represented by a delegation the de legats to be selected later A report was submitted by the waterworks water works committee stating that the reconstruction of the pumping plant is completed completed and both pumps the new one as well as after thorough overhauling the old oue one are installed and working in a most satisfactory a factory manner in this connection the council also considered cosi dered the n matter latter of wastefulness of water users in letting tile the water run from their taps in quantities larger than actually needed and a suggestion was made to rem remedy edy this condition by installing water meters so every water user will have to pay for what he uses the waterworks water works committee was instructed to communicate with manufacturers of water meters and find out cost and mode of installation A delegation of directors of the sevier county fair association appeared before the council with a request to make an appropriation tor for the fair chairman joseph F of the board of county commissioners ners who is ex officio member of the fair board acted as spokesman and explained that the county appropriated tor for the purpose and will lend further assistance in case of a deficit the council adopted a motion to make an up a tion ot of to turn over tor to the fair board all revenues from concessions and to match the county by another appropriation in case the fair meets etli with a deficit Chair chairman an peterson also made a proposition to the city council to trade to tile the county the municipal property on which the fair Is being held for some county property in the city this lie he said would work to the advantage of the county a as S well ell as the city giving the county perfect control of the fair grounds and tendering to the city a lot that can be utilized in due due time in exchange for a piece of property that as far as the city is concerned is absolutely unproductive the matter was re referred berred to tile the council committee on public grou grounds ads for further consideration and proper recommendation |
