Show HIGH SCHOOL GROUNDS 0 BE DRAINED AT ONCE contracts ded to arthur poulson of OC richfield and mathew baer of Treni onton the board of 0 education assembled in special meeting friday decided to drain the high school grounds immediately and entered into an agreement with mathew baer of tremonton Tre monton utah the highly reputed drainage expert awarding him supervision er of the work and that part of oe the construction which requires special machinery and trained handling of it tho the preparatory ork was entrusted to arthur pulson of richfield who is well experienced in drainage work and was as slating the board in the on the best wa to meet the problem this is the result or the meeting held friday jand and a tb thorough orough dic cassion of the situation whether the gymnasium which was wag affected hy by drain waters last summer will be waterproofed and repaired and in what way the repairs will be undertaken was not decided upon because the board feels that first it will have to be seen what funds will be ba available for the work to make the repairs thorough to build a gymnasium for salina to make min mill the monroe high schol to build a new school ln in venice and repairs on other school buildings would require so much nolley money that funds could be raised only by a bond isue and tile the board is very much reluctant of coming before the taxpayers with a 1 I bond issue at the present time the board members will first thoroughly inspect all tile the school buildings in III the district and see what repairs will have to lie be made immediately the inspection tour will bo be made thursday and friday saturday the board will hold a meeting to consider teachers contracts and then a complete budget will be worked out to see what the schol board will be able to do with nith tho the finances that will vill be available arc in regard to the draining mr poulson as well as mr r bear explained d that to alake it effective the drain will have to be cleaned and drained first and president hancs with members jones jone s and will meet with the council TI thursday evening to discuss tills this phase ot the work m kaji vi if J 4 1 |
