Show ROAD A IS NOW BLE FOR UTAH county commissioners hope to hear soon how much can bo be to sevier county the board of county commissioners assembled for the first regular meeting of 1922 last tuesday and nothing but a big amount of routine work was transacted the next big thing that awaits action is consideration ot of road matters in connection with the federal act and the commissioners hope to hear soon from the state road commission as news reached here from washington D C that effective last monday january 2 complete apportionment of the appropriated by the federal government for post road work during the fiscal year ending june 30 1922 becomes available for road work vork in utah this information is contained in a letter received tuesday by the state road commission from H C wallace secretary of agriculture under tinder the provisions of the so cal r led federal highway act one third of the money appropriated became available when the bill was first signed by president warren G harding apportionment of this one third amounted to practically none of this however was used by the state road commission and consequently this together with the remaining two thirds now becomes available tor for apportionment on federal aid the remaining two thirds it is explained was to become available oh A jan 1 1922 the total apportionment was pending the action of the bureau y 0 of ons public roads on the recommends T eions t of the state road commission designating the states primary and il secondary condary sa highway systems it is J improbable that any of these funds will be on post road work there is no certainty that the depart ment of agriculture will approve the system as recommended in tact fact some have predicted that a few changes win will be made |
