Show Fatal Accidents To Pedestrians It is currently reported that accidents acci-dents to pedestrians run into hundreds hun-dreds of thousands annually. Wt have no detail statistics of this, but believe the statement is justified. justi-fied. Connecticut also reports total to-tal accidents top destrians as fol-lrws: fol-lrws: children. 1674 in 1927, 1434 in 1928; total, 3108. Adults, 1242 in 1927; 1.145 in 1928; total. 2387. Total To-tal for two years, 2,916 in 1927; 2,579 in 1928: total, 5,495. Average per year 1927, 1,458; 1928, 1,290; total, 2,748. Of course these accidents were not all caused by absence of sidewalks, side-walks, but we believe a large percentage per-centage of them were from that lack. Many of them were fatal and in many cases the persons were maimed or otherwise injured for life. |
