Show j FAIRVIEW ! By Special Correspondence Mrs. John L. Bench and children chil-dren who spent the winter in Colorado Col-orado returned home this week. Mrs. Andrew Lasson and daughter daugh-ter Cleon, who have spent the past winter in California, returned return-ed home Saturday. Mrs. L. L. Peterson entertained the bridge club Monday evening Mrs. A. D. Christensen, Mrs. Royal Candland and the Misses Nivien Christensen, Hilda Peterson and Cleon Lasson were special guests. Prizes were won by Mrs. Stella Hamilton and Miss Hilda Petersen. Peter-sen. Dinner was served at 7 o' clock. Mrs. Vilate Sorenson, who spent the winter with her daughters daugh-ters at Spnngv:lle and Murray, returned home lust week. The annual old folks party held April 16 was ery successful. Tables Tab-les were set in the basement ot the new South ward church. Bishop Bish-op Henry W. Jones gave the speech of welcome. Bishop Petei Nielson gave the prayer and the blessing on the food. Howard Rlgby acted as master of cere- mnnlpa The program included: Selections, Selec-tions, ladies harmonica band under un-der the direction of Mrs. Jessie Sundwall; vocal solo, Bishop H. P. Hansen; accordlan solo, Lawrence Lawr-ence Allred; dialogue, Mrs. Reed Peterson and Mrs. Merlin Rasmus sen; speeches, Swen O. Nielson of Provo and Lindsay Stevens of Salt Lake; drama, North ward pri mary officers. A picture show was given by Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Lund at the Laurel Theatre. A dance in the evening concluded the celebration. A welcome home party was held Friday evening at the Amusement Amuse-ment hall in honor of Elder Wil-mer Wil-mer Tanner. Bishop Jones was in charge and gave the speech of welcome. Other numbers included; Speeches, Wilmer Tanner and Mel vln Cox; vocal solo, Floyd Young; reading, Margaret Simpson. A dancing party followed the program. pro-gram. The M. I. A. of both Fairvlew wards held their closing meetings April 18th. |
