Show Moroni Lions Hosts to Clubs The members of the Moroni Lions club were the hosts to members mem-bers and representatives of the Mt. Pleasant, Ephraim and Fountain Foun-tain Green Lions clubs at a banquet ban-quet meeting held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. H. E. Dice Thursday evening. District Governor Charles W. Sandles of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Mrs. Sandles were also present. The following program was given giv-en during dinner: Songs, "America" "Amer-ica" and "Start With A Smile" by the Lions. 48 in number: address of welcome, Lion Joseph W. Ol-sen; Ol-sen; vocal solo, "Friend of Mine", Ray Anderson accompanied by Miss Ellen Anderson; violin anil clarinet duet, Morris Anderson and Mont Kellett accompanied by Miss Moreal Larsen; address, District Governor Charles W. Sandles, song, "We Are The Lions"; response, re-sponse, Fred Rasmussen of the Mt. Pleasant club, Udell Jensen of the Ephraim club, D. H. Whittenburg of the Gunnison club, Dr. H. E. Dice of the Moroni club and O. L. Seely of tli: Fountain Green l.kins club; a vocal solo, "A Perfect Day" by Mrs. George Westonscow accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Ophelia Rhodes. District Governor Sandles as the speaker of the evening, reviewed the work of Lionism from its organization or-ganization fifteen years ago in Texas to the present time, calling attention to the welfare work undertaken un-dertaken by the organization through 'its record of 17,964 major activities in 1931, giving opportunity opportun-ity to the blind, the underprivileged, underprivil-eged, to those in the community who need it and to do the unselfish unself-ish thing for those who reach out to them for leadership. Elmo L. Irons was elected director direct-or in associated civic clubs of Southern Utah to take the place of the late Dr. P. L. Holman of Mt. Pleasant. The wives of the members of the Moroni Lions club served a delicious four course turkey dinner. |
