Show Report Shows the lax Levies According to the August issue oi the Utah Taxpayer, official organ cf the Utah Taxpayers Association, the state of Utah has reason to congratulate itself upon the action of. the public officials in maintaining maintain-ing this year the old level of levies in counties, school districts, cities and towns. The issue contains a complete tabulation of all of the 211 units. 24 counties, 21 school districts and 117 towns and cities maintained last year's levies. Of this number 1G counties, 17 school districts and 27 pities and towns succeeded in lowering low-ering levies. This is hailed by the Utah taxpayers as evidence that when public officials and organized taxpayers meet for the discussion of public finance, economics are sure to follow. Keeping expenditures down will be welcomed by all taxpayers of all classes during the time of depression, depres-sion, when no more should be exacted ex-acted for public administration than is absolutely necessary."
