Show Moroni Pioneer Passes Away Niels Christian Nielson of Moroni passed away at his home Wednesday Wed-nesday morning after a brief illness. ill-ness. He was born August 31, IS45 in Lugsi.ar, Denmark. He came to Utah in 1862 crossing cross-ing the plains by ox team and settling set-tling in Morcni. Four years later he went back to the Missouri River for emigrants. He married Anna Metta Soren-scn Soren-scn January 9, 1871. She passed away April 13, 1918. Since that time his daughter, Mrs. Marie Daniels of Moroni has taken care of him. He served three years with the minute men in the Black Hawk war. He was road supervisor in Morcni for five year, city r.iarshall for two years, head water master, cne year and deputy water master for twenty years, city pound keeper keep-er and precinct judge for thirty-two thirty-two years, which position he held at the time of his death. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Annie Armstrong. :Mrs. Jame Armstrong, Mrs. Nora Perkins, Mrs. Lydia Amoldson, all 'of Salt Lake City, Joe Nielsen of Buhl, Idaho; Mike Nielsen of Log-gan. Log-gan. Utah; Herman Nielsen of '.Bountiful, Ferry Nielsen of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. Mrs. Lena Sorensen of ! Mammoth and Mrs. Marie Daniels of Moroni. He is survived also by forty-two grandchildren and thirty-six great grand children. |
