Show Church Calls 1 00th Annual Conference The one hundredth anniversary conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Lntter Day Saints will Apmen6 Salt Lnke City: Sunday The first meeting wll be held at 10 a. m. in the Tabernacle, Sunday and will be a priesthood meeting' admission to which will be only by tickets to be obtained from ward bishops o:- stake presidents. The services wiH be broadcast over KSL so that wherever there is a receiving receiv-ing set, the people may hear the proceedings. . President Heber J. Grant will deliver de-liver the centennial message of the First Presidency at the morning meeting. Sunday afternoon the meeting will be for the general public, be-gining be-gining at 2 p. m. Admission to the pageant, which will be every night for more than a week, will be only by tickets which may be obtained free of charge from bishops and stake presidents. Tickets for the pageant will be good only for the performance on the night for which the tickets are dated. Members of stakes outside of Salt Lake county will be given preference the first four nights of the week. Special programs are to be arranged ar-ranged in all ward chapels and vis-itors vis-itors in Salt Lake City will be in- vited to the Salt Lake ward churches. church-es. The general sessions of the conference con-ference will be resumed Monday. The 10 A. M. and 2 P. M. Sundav, Monday, and Tuesday sessions will be broadcast over KSL. Choirs and bands from outside of Salt Lake will be heard during the conference. The city has been decorated for the centennial and special trains ot visitors are coming from Los Angeles, San Francisco, the Pacific Pacif-ic northwest and Arizona, and auto caravans are enroute from Canada. It is expected that about 50,000 visitors will come to Salt Lake City centennial week. The Salt Lake Temple, as will be the case with, all other temples of the Church will be illuminated with flood lights during the conference as a special feature of the Centennial Centen-nial celebration. So great will be the crowds, It has been suggested that people living liv-ing within driving distance of Salt Lake City, return home each night, permitting visitors from a long distance dis-tance to use the hotels and other accomodations. So great has been the demand for tickets to see the pageant that it has been decided to run it the second week. |
