He decided to make a test of the productivity of a single kernel ker-nel of wheat, and for this purpose owed it in ordinary ground, surrounded surround-ed by a fence, so as to ascertain the 3 exact amount of increase. He was greatly surprised when he counted the result, and found the one seed had yielded 4372 kernels and iS sheaths. 'J The seed is known as the Dicklow I varietv.
