Show j FAIRVIEW j i By Special Correspondence Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum D. Mowei of Fairview announce the n-ar-iiagc of their son, Allen, to Clarice Clar-ice Olson Rostrom of Ephraim. Funeral sen ices were held at Roosevelt, Utah Wednesday October Octo-ber 28 for Elton Mower, son of Willard Mower, formerly of Fair-view. Fair-view. He died after falling from a four foot raise in a mine, on a sharp pick, piercing his left side He was rushed to a hospital where an operation was performed but later died of hemorrages. Surviving Sur-viving Mr. Mower are his wife and three weeks old baby girl Also his parents, brothers and sisters. Those attending the funeral from Fairview are: Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Mower, William Rigby Thomas Rigby and Jordan Mower. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hatch are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby boy. Mrs. Hatch was formerly form-erly Miss Pearl Mower of Fairvie Mr. and Mrs. Homer Sidwell announce the engagement of their daughter, Elva, to Joe rieindiau Of Yakina. WaRhlnerm Th marriage will take place in the Manti Temple Deceember 2nd. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Ollerton announce the arrival of a baby-girl baby-girl on October 24th Mrs. Olive W. Rowley died ot pneumonia at the Moab hospital last week She was the daughter of Ellis D. and James Wilcox, was born at Castle Dale July 31, 1D09, received her education in the public schools of Castle Dale and attended high school at Moan where she graduated with hi-jh honors. She married Leroy Rowley Row-ley May 31, 1928 She is survivied by her husband and one son Kent, her mother, Mrs Ellis Wilcox Wil-cox of Fairview; her father, James Jam-es Wilcox of Moab; two brothers, Truman Wilcox of Colorado and Arden Wilcox of Fairview. She is also survived by a number ot half brothers and sisters and a host of friends. Funeral services and interment were held atMoaa Wednesday. Many relatives' and friends attended. Bishop W. D. Harmon presided. The speakers were Amasa Aldrich, Russel Mc-Konkie, Mc-Konkie, Leland Redd and Bishop Harmon. Music was by the Moab choir with special songs by Mrs. Nora Lovcridge" and Mrs. John Weech. A public meeting was held by the city officials of Fairview to discuss the present water and light sit.iation, in view of floating bonds to help out the present situation. A special election was held the following day to determine deter-mine the outcome. A $10,000 Municipal water works bond was supported by a vote of 73 to G2. The second bond of $20,000 was passed to put in an additional addition-al Electric p:wer unit, the second bond passed by a vote of 68 to 6o The deer huniing season closed yesterday. It is estimated that more than 50 deer have been taken by Fairview hunters. Twelve Twel-ve have come from Southern Utah but the remainder have beer, bagged within five or ten miles of this city.
