Show Counsel Says Keep Spirit of Independence Henry P. Olsen, local distribution distribu-tion officer for the Red Cross at Mount Pleasant gives The Pyramid Pyra-mid the following letter for publication pub-lication to let the people of this valley know just how the Red Cross organization is conducting the distribution of feed and flour in Sanpete valley. The letter came from the Western headquarters at San Francisco: San Francisco, California May IS, 1932 . Mrs. Spencer Moffltt, Chairman, Sanpete Co. Chapter, American Red Cross, Mauti, Utah. . My dear Mrs. Moffitt: . I am in receipt of your May 9, 1932 letter giving the considered opinion of your Wheat Distribution Distribu-tion Committee that our requisition requisi-tion M - 485 for 850 barrels of flour should be reinstated and shipped to your chapter. I have accordingly done so by telegraph and you will receive the shipment in due course. I trust - your committee will give the best thought and effort in the distribution Of this flour. One of the worst things that could happen to many of the families fam-ilies in Sanpete County would be a breaking down of their spirit Of Independence through the giving giv-ing of relief which Is not actually needed. Both we and you should be very anxious to avoid this. I wish to express my appreciation again to you personally for the effort you, have made and for the pressure you have withstood. Very sincerely yours, A. L. SCHAFER, Manager. |
