Show FOUNTAIN GREEN ! By Special Correspondence Funeral services for George W: Huggins, 65, who died at his home on May 14th, "were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the ward chapel. The choir sang "Hope Beyond," "In the Upper Up-per Garden" and "Sweet Hour ol Prayer." The speakers were President Pres-ident J. R. Christiansen, Jasper H. Robertson and Irvin P. Oldroyd. Old-royd. Mrs. Hilda Christiansen sang "Hold Thou My Hand," and La-Vell La-Vell Johnson played a violin solo, "Oh My Father." The prayers were offered by J. C. Jensen ancV Martin Lund. Mr. Huggins is survived by his wife, Hattie Huggins and the following fol-lowing children: Orin, Ira and Oakley Huggins of Ogden; Jennie Sandberg and Max Huggins, Long Beach, California; Florence Green and two young sons, Gayle, 8, and June, 6, of Fountain Green. All of his children except two. who were unable to come, were present at the funeral. Out of town people who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Huggins, Melvin and Velda Huggins, and Mr. Chris Madson, Riverton; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Huggins, Bear River; Mr. and Mrs. William G. Orme, Mrs. Jack Tolley and little son, Kent, Mr. and Mrs. Heber McPherson, Eugene, Ethel and Mildred McPherson, Mr. and Mrr. Verda Kendall and children, El-vin El-vin and Lauranell, of Nephi; Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Huggins, Bishop and Mrs. I. A. Huggins, Mr. and Mrs. J. Okley Huggins and infant son, Gerald, and Mr. Niels Hanson Han-son of Ogden; Mrs. Niels Lasson of Fairview. A large number of M. I. A. stake officers attended the closing social of the Moroni East ward mutual Tuesday evening. May Day was observed in Fountain Foun-tain Green Friday under the direction di-rection of the Primary. The May queen was Geniel Allred with Bar bara Livingston and Jessie Hansen Han-sen as her attendants. Miss Rae Blackham and Vida Sorenson represented rep-resented the McKonawee girls and Fred Guymon was Jack in Green. Janice Olson and Edna Cook were flower girls. These were all hon ored due to their credits in Primary Pri-mary for the past 12 months. The program included: Singing, Sing-ing, "Children's Day"; prayer, Bishop Bi-shop Winters; welcome talks by beginners; reading, "What My Papa Thinks of Me," Donely Des-pain; Des-pain; music, first grade Rythm Band; song, "Sweetly the Birds are Singing"; crowning of the queen; song, "My Flower Garden" by boys and girls; saxaphone selection, se-lection, Fred Guymon; reading, "In The Wood," Mildred ' Allred; dialogue, "Waiting For Primary Meeting"; song, "The Grasshopper Grasshop-per and the Bumble Bee," Lois Mikkelson and Edna Johnson, song, "Utah, Fairest Utah," by Piimary; prayer, President Chris-tensen. Chris-tensen. The Maypole dance, which included in-cluded 28 children, was given at 3 o'clock in the children's dance. A dance in the evening concluded conclud-ed the celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Leon G. Lund oi Standardville are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Mar-tin Lund and Mr. and Mrs. Hy-rum Hy-rum Anderson. Stake quarterly conference, was held in Fountain Green Saturday and Sunday. Apostle David O McKay was the principal speaker. He was accompanied by his wife. Dr. Milton Knudsen of Snow college col-lege was the priheipal speaker at the last meeting, which was under the direction of the M. I. A. Mrs. Ercel Shurtz and daughter left Tuesday for Monroe where they will visit for a short time. |
