Show Road Problem Serious One of the outstanding problems oi the present and future is that of providing pro-viding suitable highways for the ever increasing traffic. This problem prob-lem has many angles, all of which present difficulties challenging the best thoughts of officials and citizens. citi-zens. In spite of the great increase in milage of improved roads, it seems .hat only a beginning has been made if all communities and the rural districts dis-tricts are to be provided with hard surfaced sur-faced highways. Roads already improved im-proved are in many cases found too narrow to accomodate traffic. The growth of the bus business, with another feature of the problem which larger and heavier vehicles, presents Tiust be reckoned with. All these facts point to the necessity neces-sity for careful planning for the future, fu-ture, particularly in securing right-of 'ays of sufficient width to permit videning of roads as circumstances equire, and in building firm founda- j ions capable of sustaining the heav- I e: traffic which may be expected. Officials in charge of highway jonstruction have a highly difficult and responsible task.
