Show Snow College Students Hold Regular "Circus." ; First grade pupils of the Snow col- lege training school at Ephriam held a . "circus"' all their own, Friday, and ev- ' erything, from the handling of the ', "wild" animals,1 such as dogs and cats . and ponies and canaries, a goat and even an alligator, to the selling of j tickets and making the right change j without "shortchanging" anyone, was in the hands of the pupils. Candy animal favors and animal ! cookies took the place of the regula- I tion popcorn and peanuts, and punch I supplanted pink lemonade. The best part of it all was that the eats, like the animal cages, the "props," the costumes cos-tumes and, in fact, everything connected con-nected with the show, was furnished i by the pupils and was their handi- work. The doilies and napkins, each i decorated with a freo hand cutting of j some pet, were likewise part of the ; school work. The circus was the culmination ot , a project called "our pets," on which ' the grade has been working for three months. Daily some child would bring to school a pet, usually all carefully covered, so as not to be vis-able. vis-able. When the container had been passed around and everyone had had a guess, the truth was told, and the pet became the subject for lessons in language, arithmetic and whatnot. Meanwhile preparations for the circus went on, and on the great day about fifty parents were on hand to see the sights. The critic teacher is Miss Sarah Christensen, and the training teachers are Ethel Cropper, Vonda Harris, Ruth Madsen and Edith Madsen. |
