The story of Glenna's golf is much lite that of practically' every lop notch ynunsster. Not even the male youngsters, young-sters, many of whom started as caddies, cad-dies, are excluded, for Glenna began by playing witl' her father and occasionally occa-sionally caddying for him. Cienna's progress really began when she was eleven years old and her father fa-ther put her under the instruction of a professional. John Anderson, Leonard Leon-ard Eyles and later Alex Smith gave jier instructions, and although showing no more promise than many other young girls, she cauie along to be 'the greatest. She is a natural athlete. She is an excellent swimmer, and In her younger young-er days played an excellent game of lenais. She occasionally has experimented experi-mented with the other girls with the pocket billiard table and showed remarkable re-markable ability for a novice. In the ten national championships In which she has competed, she has beet) medalist twice and tied for the medal once, winning the playoff. She l,2s never failed to qaulify. Three times she has won, lost once in the semifinals, twice in the third round, twice in the second round and twice In the first round. She entered her first national championship cham-pionship In 1919, the first one held after the two year gap due to the war, and qualified with 93. losing in the second round to Mrs. F. F. Dubois She was sixteen Mien. The next ve r she onulitied with !)J and lost to Elaine Rosenthal in the first round.
