Show Pleads For Small Colleges In joining a group of educational education-al authorities in making a plea for Increased support for the six hundred hun-dred small liberal arts colleges in this country, President Hoover, through the prestige of his office, gave weight to a movement designed de-signed to cause a more general recognition re-cognition of these institutions. When one considers the vast endowments en-dowments of a few great universities universi-ties and the comparative poverty through which most of the smaller smal-ler colleges struggle and reflects ' upon the vital contribution tha' they make in the building of character, the impression inevitably inevit-ably forms that there should be a more, just distribution of the financial fin-ancial backing behind colleges. |
