Show I i MORONI Bv Special Correspondence Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Kathern Hafen Hansen was held in the East ward chapel Friday afternoon. Morgan Lamb of the bishoprick was in charge. The choir sang "I Have Read of a Beautiful City" and "Let the Lower Low-er Lights Be Burning." The prayers pray-ers were offered by J. Fred Ott of Payson and Leonard Anderson. Mrs. Elmo Irons and Mrs. P. J. Draper sang a duet, "Cast Thy Eread Upon the Water," accompanied accom-panied on the piano by Mrs. Blaine Draper. -The speakers were Christian Johansen of Mt. Pleasant. Pleas-ant. Daniel Anderson, Alma Black ham Elmo Irons and Morgan Lamb. Miss Vivian Anderson played an organ solo "A Perfect Day." A vocal duet, "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go, Dear Lord," was given by Mrs. Myra Peterson and Jay Hafen of Mt. Pleasant. The grave was dedicated by Bishop Ephraim Nelson. Mrs. Hansen was born in Mt. Pleasant, January 15, 1871. She married Franklin Hansen December Decem-ber 12, 1894, in the Manti Temple and they have been residents of Moroni ever since. She has always been a faithful worker in' church activities. She was president of the Moroni East ward Relief society for nearly three years. Six children were born to them, five of whom survive sur-vive her, they are: Mrs. Tienus Mortensen of Springville, Clive, Thora, Ralda and Oneta Hansen all of Moroni; four grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Emil Hafen, Mrs. Herman Her-man Beck, Mrs. Bruce Seely, Mrs C J. Johanson and Mrs. John Hansen of Mount Pleasant, and Mrs. Hyrum Bramstead of Mt. Hebron, California. Miss Zora Draper of Salt Lake City is visiting her grandmother, Mrs. Matilda Blackham, of this city. Hurrah for our side! Another ball game to Moroni's credit was played last week with Manti. The score was 52-23 in favor of Moroni. Two more games will tell the tale. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jorgensen announce the birth of a baby boy. Mrs. Jorgensen was formerly Miss Murriel Monson of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Iyonal Curtis announce the birth of a baby girl at their home. John D. Bailey, Elmer Lourtzen and Thomas Bailey made a business bus-iness trip to Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Burnside of Kenilwcrth and Mrs. Claude Behrman of McGill, Nevada are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Blackham Jr. A bundle shower was given for Mrs. Behrman Tuesday night at the home of her parents. She received re-ceived many useful and beautiful gifts from friends and relatives. Relreshments were served to 50 guests. Mrs. Behrman was formerly for-merly Miss Margaret Blackham. Mrs. Dan Phillippi 'entertained the Bridge Club last week. Refreshments Re-freshments were served to fifteen members. Mrs. Frank Christensen Christen-sen won high score prize and Miss Margaret Broadbent won the con-silation con-silation prize. The East ward M. I. A. presented pre-sented a pageant, "The Connecting Connect-ing Link," last week in the ward chapel. It was indeed something everyone should see. The characters char-acters all rendered their parts very well and it was a great success. suc-cess. James Prestwich and Mrs. John R. Blackham directed it. |
