Show Lizetta Hafen Passes Away Mrs. Lizetta Ott Hafen, aged resident of this city, died at the home of her daugher, Mrs. C. J. Johansen, early Wednesday morning morn-ing from ailments incident to old age. She had been confined to her bed for several months. Mrs. Hafen was born March 1, 1852 at Unterlongenherd Zurich, Switzerland, a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Winkler Ott. She came to Utah with her mother and grandmother In 1871, her father having died in Switzerland. Swit-zerland. She was married to Jacob Hafen Haf-en of this city in the autumn of 1872, in the Endowment House, Salt Lake City. Her husband died March 22, 1916. She was a faithful church worker work-er and had served as a Relief society so-ciety teacher for 45 years and was a member of the local German choir. She was a gold star mother, moth-er, her son Jacob giving his life during the World War, overseas in 1918. Another son, Will Hafen, i died in March 1920. j Mrs. Hafen was the mother of six children, four of whom survive sur-vive her: Mrs. Herman Beck, Mrs. R. Bruce Seely, Emil Hafen and Mrs. C. J. Johansen all of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by 42 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Jacob Bigler, Park City; Mrs. Jacob Kunzler, Rosetta, Utah, and a cousen, J. Fred Ott of Payson. Funeral services wiU be held from the North ward chapel Saturday Sat-urday at 2 p. m. |
