Show LIVELY CONTESTS FOR OGDEN SHOW Several lively contests are scheduled sched-uled for the Eighth Annual Ogden Livestock Show to be held January 4 to 8. The one that is each year the most keenly competitive and exciting while it lasts is the Milk Maid Milking Milk-ing Contest. This time it is to be staged on the final day of the show. Any woman or girl over fifteen years of age is eligible to enter and try for the beautiful silver vase to be awarded award-ed by the Ogden Livestock Show. There will be second and third awards of $5 and $2.50 in cash. There will also be an interesting competition for the Herdsmen's special spec-ial prize. The award will go to the herdsman who in the opinion of a special spec-ial committee makes the best showing on points of condition of herd or flock, personal appearance, orderliness and cleanliness of stalls, bedding and animals; an-imals; and systematic arrangement of traps, feed and forage. Three c&sh prizes $10, $5 and $2.50 will be awarded respectively to the first, second sec-ond and third winners. Another contest that is creating much enthusiasm is the Collective County Herds competitive exhibition. Three silver loving cups will be given the counties shownig winning herds of Holstoin, Jersey nad Guernsey cattle. Animals to be shown as collective . ounty herds must be owned by two r: more bona fide residents of the county competing. State or county owned herds are not eligible for this contest. |
