Show Twenty Miners Die in Indiana Blast Princeton, Ind. An explosion In the Francisco mine No. 2, near here, took a toll of twenty lives. Fourteen other miners still were in the mine, their fate unknown, and of thirty-seven others rescued many were so seriously burned they may die. Seventy-one men were in the mine when the blast occurred, apparently from dust. Thirteen Thir-teen were uninjured. The mine, one of the largest in the state, employed 300 miners. The explosion occurred ia the southeastern part of the shaft shortly after five cage loads of miners had been lowered for the day's work. An emergency hospital was established establish-ed at the mine washroom and physicians phys-icians and nurses summoned from Princeton. After first aid treatmen was given,, the more seriously injured were rushed in . ambulances to the VIelhodist hospital here. Most of tb i.i rescued suffered severe burns aout ihe face and chest.
