Show SANPETE COIII LEADS STATE IN , IMPROVING IDE Sanpete County leads alll other counties of the State in organized efforts for improvement of the sheep and wool Industry the Extension Service of the Agricultural College announces after reviewing annual reports re-ports submitted by County Agricultural Agricul-tural Agents in ninteeu counities of Utah. Th6 annual report filed 'by County Agent C. O. Stott shows Mie following sheep and wool improvement activities activi-ties in Sanpete during 1926: A Raimbouilet Breeders' Association Associat-ion was organized at Ephraikn. Small wool pools were organized at Fairview and Centerfield, which sold 4200 fleeces for 28 farmers at a profit. Agricultural teachers from the six high schools of the county a'nd from Snow College were given wool grading grad-ing demonstrations aim eacn acnool was fluir'niished an official set of U. S. Shearing plants at Jericho, Fountain Foun-tain Green, Ephraiim, Manti, and Fayette Fay-ette were visited by College wool graduates a'n-d the County Agent, where 4 00 fileece3 -were weighed individually, in-dividually, and staple measurements were made on 75 fleeces. Composite samples for shrinking tests ware also taken from 15 00 fleeces a'nd sent to U. S. Department of Agriculture .for analysis. The analysis, test for 19 25 showed an average of 62.43 per cent shrinkage A Community Sheep Show was held at Ephraim, which was attended by 8 5 interested peoplt The Sanpete County Fair pre-umim list recognized wool in. competition for first time Economic surveys were made of 12 sheep ranches by the College Wool '.
