Show LIONS MAWE A ROUSING RJ3EET Club Discusses Plans For Protection Against Floods in Pleasant Pleas-ant Creek Which Are a Menace to The City. Mt. Fleasant Lions, about fifty in j number, met in a rousing meeting! Wednesday evening at the High! School building at 6:15 o'clock and! enjoyed a luncheon prepared by the. Domestic Science Department of the High School. During the luncheon music and songs were enjoyed, Mutt and Jeff giving a leading number. num-ber. The minutes of the previous meeting was read by the secretary secre-tary and reports were made by the various committees. Secretary Atkiu made a report of the visit of six members of the club to the meeting of the Lions at Pay-son Pay-son where a charter was granter to the Payson cl'Ub, by the grand secre-, secre-, tary.. Mayor R. II. Hinckley reported to the club that it was necessary to take steps to prevent distruction to property by floods in Pleasant Creek. Engineers from the Agricultural College will soon go over the ground and a report will be made by them as to a plan whereby floods may be checked before they reach the city. Mr. Hinckley stated that the city was unable to meet additional expenses, ex-penses, but it would have to be done anyway, partly by donation work, for the protection of the city. The mayor also stated that the road building program between Fair, view and Mt. Pleasant would be started in about sixty days, or near that time. This information was appreciated by the club. About six miles of gravel road is to be constructed con-structed this summer. Following are the standing committees com-mittees of the Lions club of Mt.
