Show THE HAPPY HOME By MARGARET BRUCE V.V.V.V.V.V.V.V.V.V.V.Vi (Cupyrleht. The Junior Bathtub Mrs. Jininiy liad always liad a dreadful time liathiny Jimmy Junior. At t lie hospital they had taught her to hathe him m a wash-howl, and then lay him out on a big bath towel spread on a table to be dried and dressed. "Laps were considered dangerous, because be-cause wobbly, and of course the big bathtub was nuicb too deep to bathe him in. Yet Mrs. Jimmy was always afraid he would skid on the washbowl, and he was so desperately slippery and elusive when she lifted him out. As he grew older the washbowl became be-came too small, and the tiny hahy tub had to be set up on a chair, from whence water was splashed all over the floor. She was never really comfortable com-fortable and never felt really safe when bathing Jimmy Junior. It w as just when she had nearly decided de-cided not to bathe him any more that someone told her about a new baby-tub baby-tub which solved all her troubles at once. It was a simple, liglit-wcig'lit affair, af-fair, Ibis tiny hanging tuh-basUet. It was a soft bag of heavy fabric, swung between two wooden supports which rested on the sides of .Mrs. Jimmy's big bath tub. All she had to do was to place the two wooden arms on the rim of tier tub, turn hack the canvas top against the wall, till her big tub mmsm with warm water, and drop Jimmy Junior into his bath-bag. This bag was open at all four corners, so that the warm water in the big tub flowed in and out easily. When the bath was finished, all she had to do was to remove the stopper from the big tub and let the water out. Hut the best part of this baby-tub was that the top of it was a dressing table. When Jimmy Junior was clean, a turkish towel was thrown around him and he was lifted in Mrs. Jimmy's arms until she could let down the hinged top. This top made a flat, comfortable com-fortable canvas table on which be was laid to be dried, powdered, kissed and dressed. In the little pockets back of the hinged top were spaces for soap, sponges, powder and safety pins, all well out of reach of the water. "I used to dread giving Jimmy Junior Jun-ior his bath, but I thoroughly enjoy it now," said Mrs. Jimmy. |
