Show ART FRANDSEH BUYS CHOICE DM CATTLE Art Frandsen returned Monday from Portland where he attended the Pacific International Livesock Ex-pocition, Ex-pocition, October 31 to November 7th. While there he purchased 2 Ayshire cows and one bull from the E. W. Van Tassell herd, Wenatches, Washington at fancy prices. Six others Were purchased by Mr. Frandsen at the Public auction sale held during the show. One of the cows, Ellen Scott No. 7P,311 received 1st. prize as a I three-year old. She produced as a two-year old heifer during a pe'--j iod of 12 months, 9,086 lbs. of i milk, which tested; 5.22 bringing 473.98 lbs butterfat, during the twelve months. At this sale Mr. Frandsen purchased pur-chased Earlcrest Ester Marea from the Earlcrest otock farm paying a fancy price. This cow produced 9.810 pounds of milk and 405 pounds of butter fat in one year. Her mother holds the world record at 4 years old with 14,147 pounds of milk, producing 552.84 pounds but-i er fat. She also holds the Oregon slate Roll of Honor 300 day record. Mr. Frandsen now haij one of the finest little dairy herds in this part of the country. He selected a su-'. pernor type of cattle and has purchased purchas-ed some of the very best in the Ayshire breed. I He will no dubt make a splendid ..-ecesi of his fine cattle. j |
