Show Laundry Business Pays Army Washington. The army made more than a half million dollars during the last fiscal year in the operation of laundry and dry cleaning plants for officers and enlisted men. Major General Gen-eral William H. Hart, army quartermaster quarter-master general, in his report to the secretary of war, made public here, said laundry service was furnished enlisted men at $1.75 per month and that $15,110,000 pieces of laundry were handled. The net earnings for the years from both laundries and cleaning establishments amounted to $534,684. |
