Show 4-H CLl BS HOIJ) COUNTY TRYOl'TS AT MANTI Due to the fact that the Sanpete County Fair .was called off it was necessary to arrange a date for hold- ing the tryouts on the demonstration contests for the 4-H CHtbs of the j county These tryouts were held rii- cently at Manti with the following j teams in competition: 1 Muffin Demonstration, Manti, Lois JMadsen, Vera Wintch. I Muffhi Demonstration, Manti Bold I win Parry, Margaret Lowry. Kitchen Holder Demonstration, Ephraim, Dorthy Thompson, Flora 'Stevens. j Kitchen Holder Demonstration, j CenterCield, Roberta Malmgren, Fern I Anderson. Hemmed Patch Demnstration, Ephinaim, Delia Lund, Eveyln Soren-sen. Soren-sen. iHemmed Patch Demonstration, Mant'i, Mildred Lowry, Faun Braith-v.aite. Braith-v.aite. Hommed Patch Demonstration, Mt. rieasant, Maxine Johansen, Lois IPeel. Sheep Fitting Demonstration, Eph-laim, Eph-laim, Richard Jorgenseu, Marliu Thompson. The judges of the contest for the l,?irls work were Miss Williams and Miss Fillmore of the Manti High School faculty and Mrs. Clair distrait distra-it ion by the Ephraim team and the .hemmed patch demoiitration by the It. Pleaant second place. The boys earn from Ephraim didn't have competition com-petition so they were selected as fir.it ilace winners. The two Ephraim 'anis, therefore will represent Sanpete San-pete County at the State Fair in the demonstration Contests this year. Iiss Veda Winn and Mr. Leonard Thompson were the leaders of the winning learns and Miss Helen Mad-sen Mad-sen was leader of the Mt. Pleasant team that took second place. This' is the first county demonstration contest tryout that has ever been and a p-eat deal of interest was shown by the club members as well as their parents in the event. This marks 'a very splendid beginning and inti r-est r-est in ibis event next year should be t.icreased considerably. I |
