PLEASANT WILL HONOR SOLDIERS ON WASHINGTON'S BIRTHDAY PROGRAM VILL BE AT ELiTEJHEATRE Mount Pleasant has selected February Febru-ary 22nd, Washington's birthday, as a fitting time to pay tribute to the soldier boys of this community, who have served Uncle Sam during the war. In the evening of the 22nd the following splendid program will be given at the Elite Theatre at 8 p. m.: A special picture for the occasion has been secured by the management of the theatre. Vocal solo, Miss Melba Aldrich, accompanied by Miss Gladys Erick-sen. Erick-sen. Presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to the boys, Mayor W. D. Candland. Selection by the Orchestra, "United We Stand." Mount Pleasant had one hundred seventeen men in the service, according accord-ing to information we have at hand. Three of them paid the supreme sacrifice. They were Ralph Braby, who was drowned at San Diego, Cal. on May 5, 1918; Mervil Zabrlskie, who was killed in action in Prance on October 1, 1918; and Jacob Hafen, who died of Lobar pneumonia, while in France, on October 6, 1918. Fifty-two of Mount Pleasant'g young men have returned home and thlr---. teen of them have left home again to i seek employment at various places, irty-nine are here at the present ae. Sixty-two are still in the aerie aer-ie of Uncle Sam. The accompanying roster gives the .mes of these soldiers.
