Show Pacifying a Pacifist. During a recent patriotic parade a marine who was helping keep the crowd back heard an old man at his side grunting and mumbling, and he finally asked him what was the matter. The old man said, "Them out there," as he pointed to the passing soldier boys. "Why, don't you wish you were one of them?" the marine asked. "No," the old man said. "I belong to the -army of peace, the army of heaven. "Yes, my man, but aren't you a good way from your barracks?" stopped the old man's grumbling and started the crowd laughing. |
