Show "BftUNDJHE BARS" BY GOLLY, I forgot to mention last week, that when Sheriff James Sanderson came to Mount Pleasant , the Sunday before election day, all "lit up" with political Excitement, ' looking for the editor of the Pyramid and going so far as to enter the Pyramid Pyra-mid office and "snoop" around, without with-out my permission, and trespassing upon my private property, that he had automobile license No. 13886 on his Buick car. This 13886 is registered re-gistered in the office of the Secretary of State as being the number issued for an Essex car in the name of J. H. ! Sanderson. The sheriff also had this same old Essex No. 13886 on his Buick car when he came to Mt. Pleasant on the 16th of November, when he came to the Pyramid office asking permission to make a reply ' to a story in the paper Which really called for no answer. The sheriff purchased his Buick' automobile from Roy Bachelor on October 18 th. 1922. j It would be well for the sheriff to set the example to other automobile 1 owners. We overlooked another item which ; now comes into mind relative to the County attorney. On April 22nd, : 1921, according to Peter Justesen of i Ephraim, Clinton Justesen, son of Peter Justesen, was accused of tak-; ing some ice cream from a poarch. j During the hearing in the Justice's, Court County Attorney Jensen be- j came angry and hit young Justesen. on the side of the head, making: blood come out on the opposite side, j according to a report made to the! Pyramid by ' the father of the boy. j Young Justesen resented the act of j the County Attorney and knocked; him to the floor. The Justice tried ; to separate the men, but had to call : -the assistance of the City Marshall. Did you ever heard of a county attorney striking a man in Court? :The young man did not take the ice cream according to the evidence. We feel that County Attorney A. W Jensen will read every word in this column as he was very anxious to have us tell some of the things we know. He insisted on my telling tell-ing him the name of one of my cus- w opvi to the Editor,; tomers. He says, iu "so you're the one who likes to keep things in the dark." . If people will not protect my good , name at home while I am away, I get back, I'll tell the World that I will protect it, and I will not mince ,words in doing it. If any body doubts this statement, they are 100 pgr cent mistaken. We are right here "behind the bars," and done forget we are behind the pen. (Signed) Burke McArthur. |
