Show POISON FATAL TO ACTRESS. Olive Thomas, Stage and Screen Star, Succumbs to Mercurial Draught. Paris. Olive Thomas, formerly, widely known on the American musical stage and for several years past a motion mo-tion picture star, died at 11 o'clock Friday morning in the American hospital hos-pital at Keuilly. She was taken to that institution Sunday suffering from a slow poisoning, having swallowed a poisonous solution containing mercury mer-cury early that day by mistake, Recently Miss Thomas, who came to Europe with her husband, Jack Pick-ford, Pick-ford, had suffered from nervous depression, de-pression, it was said. First aid was promptly given her by Mr. Pickford when he returned Sunday to tne hotel where they were stopping, and found his wife in a serious condition, and every poss'ble effort was made at the hospital to counteract the effects of the poison, but without avail. |
